Should we really pursue happiness? I believe we should pursue virtue, also known as God. This difficult decision rewards your efforts in the long term and is worth it. Imagine if what fills your heart the most also fills the hearts of those around you. What if individual well-being could benefit collective well-being? Let’s explore how we can become such people and make this world a better place.
Treat Yourself as a Person You Would Be Responsible For
Would you speak to a friend the way you speak to yourself? If not, it’s time to change. Achieving the life of your dreams in five years requires meaningful work and patience. Avoid cognitive dissonance—the gap between what you say you value and your actions. If you say that you follow good, which is to live a life of righteousness, and then you just cheat, criticize, and lie, then that is cognitive dissonance, also known as hypocrisy. It’s one of the main reasons people walk away from religion. So, take a piece of paper and write down your values and, most importantly, your mission statement, which is what you want to do with your life. Write down whatever you feel pulled towards from the bottom of your heart. Do an occasional check-up because as you dig into your soul, you might find that what you once believed evolves over time. Pour all your heart and soul into these words, and then start to live your life according to them. I know it’s not that simple; it’s hard work. But you will see in the end, it’s all worth it. When you don’t really know which step to take, ask yourself: “What would I tell my best friend to do?”
Treat Others as You Want to Be Treated
“So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” — Matthew 7:12
This is one of the reasons why people have lost their faith in politics. Numerous times, politics promised something but didn’t deliver. I know sometimes it’s hard to fight for the good when everyone around you is defending evil. Moreover, nowadays we are facing a big danger, the danger of relativism. This ideology teaches us that there is really no right or wrong and that it is just a matter of personal interpretation. This fallacy is dangerous, as we have evolved to be moral creatures. When an animal kills another animal for their meal, they don’t feel anything because they live according to their animal nature. But as humans, we are different; we have a deep capacity to be compassionate. We can choose to follow this path, rather than our animalistic one. The representation of good and evil has been there for ages, such as God and Satan. Remember that any fool can do evil but it takes some intelligence to do good. Even atheist scholars like Jonathan Haidt have recognized the need for divinity in our lives to be fulfilled. So, follow your mission, and if it is really your mission, it will be a win-win for everybody!
A Message for the Two Different Genders
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25
For young men and men in general, do not believe the lie that you have to be weak to be loved. You have to be strong, stand tall, and be confident. You, a man with a heart filled with love, will protect the women and children. Because if you don’t, who will be left to stand up against evildoers? That’s why feminists will always feel a lack of respect. Only when we complement each other can we defeat evil. So, treat the women in your life with all respect but don’t refrain from telling your truth. Only your expression of the divine masculine energy can make her express her divine feminine energy. And to become that man, you have to stop watching porn altogether like I did more than a year ago.
For young women, follow your creativity and your dreams. I hope your father encouraged you with all his heart. If it wasn’t the case or if you’ve been hurt by a man or men in your life, I’m extremely sorry for your hurt but don’t believe the lie that all men are like that. These men were immature men. A good man in his mature masculine energy will lead you to God. You deserve a man of God. If he is one, he will put a ring on it. If one of your dreams is to be a mother, be proud to have this dream despite what society leads you to believe.
It’s crazy to me that this knowledge has been there for so long. Yet, today we still ignore that philosophy that would benefit everyone in this world. I know that some people are really struggling, but it’s never a reason to turn to evil ways. As Stephanie Harrison points out, you have to figure out who you are and then you help others with that information. That’s the process I’m wrestling with. I hope you find truth and motivation in this write-up. Love!
